TRAINING INFORMATION & HELPFUL TIPS Here is a very helpful tip for developing good exercising habits, which emphasizes the power of being consistent. If a person did just 10 pushups a day, which doesn't seem like anything, by the end of 1 year they would have done 3,650 pushups! That is a lot of exercise over the course of a year! The benefits of a small amount of exercise done consistently are many fold: (1) As a person's muscle mass grows their metabolism increases causing them to burn more calories in a day just doing what they normally do. (2) Each time a person is able to consistently follow through and stick to an exercise regimen they strengthen their self-discipline which of course, helps them in their other endeavors and pursuits. (3) Setting goals and then being able to follow through and accomplish goals enhances our self-esteem and just generally makes one feel better about oneself. So the point is: small efforts made over a long period of time have a BIG EFFECT! Teaching our kids to set small goals and then following through to accomplish them sets up with a stronger foundation for succeeding in life.

Character Word of the Month for November: "SELF-DISCIPLINE": being able to make yourself do, what you need to do, when it needs to be done.
Character Word for the Month of October: Perseverance Perseverance: to continue a course of action in spite of difficulty. "Sticking to goals until they are reached" or more simply put, "Sticking to it!" The goal of our character word of the month for our class kids (6 & up), is to help them apply and experience important life attributes with the goal of not only having them understand what they mean, but to associate that great quality with how they view themselves.
