Swiss American Fraternal Society
An Affiliate Of The "North American Swiss
Alliance"
A Fraternal Organization-Organized July 1, 1865
The aim of the alliance is to bring together all Swiss societies existing in the United States and North America and to encourage the continuance of Swiss traditions, and to promote and foster loyalty and allegiance to the United States of America.
Life insurance sales are a means of generating money through premiums collected to be paid at death to survivors.
The alliance, in order to keep close contact with its insured members and benevolent members issues an official publication "The Swiss American." This has articles of interest to all - articles telling of famous places and structures in Switzerland, and also contains articles submitted by American societies keeping in touch with all through the publication.
The local society, "Swiss American Fraternal Society", has members who do not necessarily belong to the national alliance, but are interested in keeping alive traditions of their Swiss heritage or are friends of Swiss with whom they keep close contact.
The local Society is affiliated with three other societies in the area, and sponsors an annual dinner and dance to which members and their guest are invited.
